About Philip Evans
Born in Western Australia in 1949, Phil started drawing at about 5 years and
was intrigued by shapes he made on the page, details were most important.
Phil was educated at Hale School from 1960-67, art classes were the highlight,
day dreaming about Art during Maths classes was quite common !
Robert Juniper taught art classes for a period at the new Hale School
site in Wembley Downs.
Early years living on the Swan River in Attadale, a pristine environment then,
fuelled the imagination for the constant visual residing in Phil's mind.
A family farm in Baker's Hill was also a wonderful environment for Phil to
pursue his artistic activities for many years.
After finishing secondary education at Hale School, Phil was accepted into
Curtin University and graduated in Graphic Design, in 1973 opened his own
Graphic Design Studio producing work for many Advertising Agencies and
private clients continuing through to about 1990.
In the early 1990's Phil had developed his skills in producing highly detailed
paintings of Architectural Impressions for Architects, Developers, Property
Groups and Marketing Agencies and this continued at a frenetic pace for
a further 20 years until 2010. The so called ' Architectural Artist Impression'
is now computer generated.
The accumulated years of Illustration, Painting and Drawing have prepared
Phil for the next 20 years. He is now well advanced with a series of Acrylic
Paintings, Watercolours and Drawings, these current themes inspired by
visits each year to Italy with his wife Patrizia, mostly centred around his
beloved Venezia. Currently he is discussing an exhibition at Galleries in
Australia and Italy with a view to exhibiting in 2012 and 2013.
